Its official I must be one of the worst Bloggers going, I should have known as when I initially created the site all the info people sent, some of it took me almost a year to update. To keep up a regular blog was too great an ask. However if I can make it every 4 months on a regular basis thats a target I guess.

So what has been happening?

On the international front I heard that Denise Johns has just come back from surgery to her knee, so she wont be playing in Adelaide, I dont know if Matt G will do any partner switching, I am guessing that until its mathmatically inpossible for them to make Beijing he wont but once thats over and its all about London I am wondering if there might be different combinations for the women.

Claire Kelly my neice was due to make her debut for Australia in Adelaide but her partner has pulled out , I wonder if she will play for Aus or whether as a programme player she should be picked for GBR, she didnt get there in the first round but with the new APA's of Lianne Herbert and Vicky Palmer she should be in with at least another look.

The GBR boys are up again with new combinations, Greg W has bagged Steve G, check out their new site atgrotowski-weaver.co.ukJody is now playing with Robin Medz' Robin who was on the outside of the first draft pick last year, maintained his position in the GBR fold by Morph Bowes switching to being full time on the programme, has now bagged one of potentially the best GBR home grown players.Morph is now playing with Luke Sheaf who has been plagued with injury a feiry combination to say the least.Interesting times

On another note did you know John Garica Thompson who used to play for Spain, who won the European U23 champs back along is now elligible to play for GBR, he hasnt played for ESP on the World Tour for two years, watch the GBR/ENG website for updates especially if the injury history to the current players continues.

Volleyball is consuming most of my time right now and not necessarily the fun part. Now I have moved into the administration side of volleyball, looking back I dont think I ever would have comprehended how my playing volleyball as a junior ever came to pass. There are lots of boring details, planning and getting those plans to work are the frustrating and hard parts. As a volunteer for the EVA on different commission I am working with 3 of them it can be difficult to work out the maze and forge ahead with a clear, organised, well constructed path. Watch this space (in about a years and a halfs time I am guessing) for the fruits of our work.

My community sports coach work is going well and the Academy of Beach Sports are working toward their accreditation of Volley 1 with the help of all the young puppies. We recently qualified 12 level 1 coaches and I was officially given my Staff Tutor for Level 1 indoor volleyball.
We took four teams to the South West Volleyball Junior Event in Melksham although we got tonked it was a real eye opener for the grommits and they came back bouncing with enthusiasm to train harder. Most of them are looking to play in the Gold Coast this year which will see the largest number of Academy players taking part-finally!

So much more to tell and so little time, by the way I didn't say that I am off to Tenerife for FIVE weeks, I have really missed me time to train and play beach volleyball. It's my early birthday present to myself as on the Gold Coast Saturday it's my 40th birthday and I wanted to get at least a little back in shape.

See you all on the sand soon summer wont be that far away.
